Bruce gave us a great history lesson on the Jacklin family dating back from 1930's until the present time.
3 Jacklin Brothers came from the Midwest in the 1950's and purchased land in Post Falls from the Reynolds and the Becks.  They planted turf grass on the land.  They were very aware of the erosion problems of the Midwest and were technologically advanced in their planting methods.  They had several patents on the turf grass methods of growing.  In the 1970's, they merged with the Vaughn Seed Company out of Chicago.  Things went well until the economic downturn of the 1980's.  Using an Industrial Revenue Bond, they bought out the Vaughns and moved forward with their vision of developing a Commerce Park in Post Falls.  This vision came to fruition in 1997 when the Riverbend Commerce Park was developed.  The Jacklins put in their own water system.  Post Falls URD and URA helped with the initial infrastructure, sewer and roads.  The URD will be closed soon with the money going back to the city.  There are 1500 employees in the Commerce Park.
